Built From Real Financial Frustration
Back in 2019, our founder spent three weeks manually pulling together a quarterly compliance report. The data existed in seven different systems. Each extract required different permissions. And when it was finally done, regulators asked for clarifications on formats that weren't standardized across the industry.
That experience stuck. Not because it was uniquely terrible—most finance teams deal with similar headaches—but because it felt solvable. The information was there. The requirements were clear. The problem was just connecting everything without losing your mind or your weekend.
So we started building FlareBrightOn in Kaohsiung, working with local financial institutions who were willing to test early versions. The goal wasn't to revolutionize anything. We just wanted reporting that didn't require a dedicated team member to babysit spreadsheets for days on end.
How We Got Here
Started With One Client
A mid-size investment firm in Kaohsiung let us automate their monthly regulatory reports. Took us four months to get it right. They saved about 30 hours per month once we ironed out the bugs. That became our proof of concept.
Expanded To Multi-Jurisdiction Support
Clients started asking about cross-border reporting requirements. Taiwan financial institutions often deal with Hong Kong, Singapore, and mainland regulations simultaneously. We built adapters for different reporting standards instead of forcing everyone into one template.
Added Real-Time Monitoring
Compliance isn't just about quarterly reports anymore. Regulators expect ongoing oversight. We integrated monitoring tools that flag potential issues before they become report problems. Basically, early warnings for things that might trip you up later.
Serving 40+ Financial Institutions
We're handling compliance reporting for banks, investment firms, and insurance companies across Taiwan. The system processes about 200 regulatory reports monthly. Still based in Kaohsiung, still focused on making compliance less painful.
Accuracy Over Speed
Fast reports don't matter if the numbers are wrong. Our system double-checks data sources before generating outputs. You can review everything before submission. We'd rather you catch an issue during preview than explain it to regulators.
Built For Finance People
We designed this for compliance officers and finance teams, not IT departments. The interface makes sense if you understand financial reporting. Setup doesn't require coding. Updates happen without breaking your existing workflows.
Taiwan Financial Context
We understand local regulatory requirements because we work with them daily. FSC reporting formats, banking bureau standards, insurance commission guidelines—we track changes and update templates accordingly. Less time wondering if your format matches current requirements.
The People Behind The System
Small team, focused priorities. We're based in Kaohsiung and most of us have worked in financial services before building software. That background shapes how we approach compliance automation—we remember what it's like on the other side.
Rasmus Thorvaldsen
Head of Compliance Systems
Spent eight years at a regional bank handling regulatory reporting before joining FlareBrightOn. Knows exactly which parts of the compliance process waste the most time. Builds features that eliminate those bottlenecks.
Isolde Vinterberg
Implementation Specialist
Works directly with new clients during setup. Background in accounting systems and data migration. Makes sure your existing data connects properly without forcing you to reorganize everything you're already doing.
What We Actually Do Well
Compliance reporting sounds straightforward until you're three hours into reconciling data from incompatible systems. We focus on the specific problems that consistently cause headaches for Taiwan financial institutions. Not everything—just the parts where automation genuinely helps.
Multi-Source Data Integration
Your transaction data, customer records, and risk metrics probably live in different systems. We pull from all of them without requiring manual exports. The system reconciles discrepancies and flags anything that doesn't match expected patterns.
Template Management
Regulatory formats change. Sometimes quarterly, sometimes with a week's notice. We maintain updated templates for FSC, banking bureau, and insurance commission requirements. When formats shift, your reports adapt automatically.
Audit Trail Documentation
Every report includes complete documentation showing where each number came from. When regulators ask questions—and they will—you can trace everything back to source data with timestamps and user actions recorded.
Exception Handling
Edge cases happen in financial data. The system identifies outliers and unusual patterns before finalizing reports. You review flagged items and decide how to handle them. Automation with human oversight where it matters.
